Friday, April 17: Fix-It Friday AND Pop-In Event with A2 Art Center

On Friday, April 17th we will be doing something very special indeed.

We will be in two different places in the same evening!

That’s right, this Friday we will be hosting Fix-It Friday from 4-6pm at our shop, and we will also be at the Ann Arbor Art Center’s Pop-In event from 6-10pm.

Fix-It Friday is our monthly gathering where anyone and everyone are welcome to bring their well-worn, well-used, or just plain broken-down items, and have a team of our soldering soldiers, woodworking wizards, metalworking mavens, and others take a look at them.

The next Fix-it Friday is April 17th from 4-6pm

Maker Works Members: Because Fix-It Friday is gaining attention and more people are starting to show up, we would love your help! Any and all skill sets are welcome. We hope you’ll take part in this great way to contribute to our maker community. There is currently no sign up for volunteers; just show up and let a staff member know you’re here to help!

The Ann Arbor Art Center Pop-In is a free three-part event series taking over the Ann Arbor Art Center. On April 17 from 6-10pm, all members of the community are welcome as the Center hosts homemade and handmade pop-up concepts of four varieties: food (EAT), crafts (MAKE), handmade goods (SHOP), and a hacked gallery exhibition (HACK).

EAT: Central Provisions will provide delectable refreshments.

MAKE: Maker Works staff will be on site with their very own lasers to create laser-cut drinking glasses!

SHOP: There will be a pop-up shop with artists displaying ceramics, leather, screen-printed t-shirts, and jewelry.

HACK: The gallery will be hacked to feature special lighting, sound installations, film projections, performance artists, and environmental alterations.

We hope you can make it to either or both events! Please bear in mind that because of our staff being spread out between the two events, we will have fewer staff members at Fix-It Friday which may mean we cannot examine and fix as many items as we normally do.
